Global markets and increasingly shorter product cycles require an accelerated execution of business processes and highest capacities for information exchange. Almost all business processes including payment transactions can be carried out through electronic data interchange. Especially while cooperating with large enterprises, medium-sized companies are required to have a secure and direct connection to their computer service centres. For these reasons, FOSS-EDI creates a link between the FOSS subsystem and external partners.
FOSS EDI supports all common EDI standards and protocols, the core piece of FOSS-EDI being the transaction monitor, which monitors event based transport and directs further processing of the data transferred.
In addition to the processing modules made available by ORDAT, individual programs and user routines can be linked in the process. Thus, own processing that runs completely independent of the actual EDI, can be controlled through the EDI-monitor, e.g. distribution of data onto different servers.
