Platform Independency
FOSS is embedded in a modern software-architectonic environment and thanks to its APIs (Application Programming Interface) it can be installed on diverse operating and database systems, irrespective of the existing hardware.
The system runs under leading Unix derivatives including Linux as well as under Windows Server, and thus grants a maximum freedom of the hardware platform.
The supported databases include among others Oracle and SQL-Server. The whole system is open to the commercially available relational or object-relational database systems.
